L.E.A.D Program

Officer David Funk is a certified L.E.A.D. instructor for USD 410. L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence) is a program developed to deter youth from drug use, drug related crimes, bullying, and violence. The “Too Good for Drugs” curriculum is taught in the 5th grade at Hillsboro Elementary School. The 10-week program focuses on developing a framework of social and emotional skills that promote positive, pro-social attitudes and behaviors, while fostering healthy relationships, resistance to substance abuse and conflict, and resistance to negative peer pressure and influence.
