Building Permits Required Due to the recent hailstorm, many homeowners have to replace roofs damaged by the hail. According to City Building Inspector Ben Steketee, homeowners are required to obtain a building permit from City Hall before work is scheduled to begin. “The permitting process and using licensed contractors protects the homeowner’s investment by verifying the job is done according to code” said Steketee.
