Employees Receive NIMS Training

Delores Johnson instructed Hillsboro City Employees on NIMS (National Incident Management System) training on Thursday, April 24th.

NIMS was developed by Homeland Security, and is a comprehensive statewide framework for incident command that enables responders at all levels to work together no matter the size or complexity of an incident.

Adoption to NIMS was required for state and local organizations in 2005 in order to receive federal preparedness assistance.

The course covered the following levels:

IS-700 This is the introductory level and basically explains NIMS and the reason for its development.

IS-100 An introduction into the Incident Command System

IS-200 Explains how the Incident Command System works and each individual’s role.
