Electric Department

We employ a four-man crew to take care of 25.56 miles of electric lines in the city of Hillsboro. Power is purchased through a municipal power agency called KKP Energy and resold to the citizens of Hillsboro. KKP Energy is a group of 20 cities purchasing power as a group to get a lower wholesale price. The electric system is operated at 7200 volts throughout Hillsboro.
