City Election Filing Deadline

There are two Hillsboro City Council seats that are up for election on April 6th. The deadline to file for candidacy is 12:00 p.m. on January 26th.

Shelby Dirks, Ward 1, and Byron McCarty, Ward 2, currently hold the positions (2 year terms). Ward 1 is west of Washington Street and Ward 2 is to the east.

Filing for the elections is done at the city clerk’s office. One of the following is required:

• $5.00 filing fee
• Petition with 25 signatures
• Petition with 10 percent of the ballots cast in the most recent general city election
